Room wasnt serviced for 5 days of my stay. No clean towels, bed never made, rubbish left outside door, still there after 2 days.Mgr said cleaner left her the week I was there, not good enough she should have serviced room herself. I will tell my friends to stay else where when going to Hobart. Not happy Jan!!!!!!

    Friendly staff, good location

Internet didn't work at all - the staff said it probably wouldn't work in room but it also didn't work in reception. Breakfast was a let down. Cereal stale and a price of toast. Bathrooms old and crumbly. My room wod have struggled to fit another person , unless they wanted to climb over me to get in and out of bed

    Close to Salamanka market

    Close to town Clean

I was very upset about this place. I was asked to pay for my stay on arrival - I did not know this would be required before I stayed. I had a sudden change of plans becdause of an opportunity that arose for the last three days and I raised this with the hotel on the day after I arrived which gave them three days notice. They told me I could only make changes through Bookings.com. I could find no email contact for you and I was at a conference for the rest of the week. I discussed my desire to change each morning but got different information each day. The hotel was concerned about losing the booking fee they paid to you. I eventually found a phone to phone bookings.com in the UK and was pleased to find a willingness to accommodate me if the hotel agreed. The hotel had toldf me I could make the change if I did it through you. However the person at the hotel said they required 72 hours notice from Bookings.com. This was the first I had heard of that and I feel cheated by the hotel. When I raised the matter with the woman at the hotel she was rude and aggressive. They had my money and were not parting with it. I have since found that I am not the only guest who has been treated like this. The ser4vice was generally poor - breakfast is the most minimal I have ever seen in a hotel - cereal and milk and toast - no accommodation of dietary variations. Internet is only available in nthe immediate vicinity of the front desk - too much trouble to have it extended to the rooms.

it had all i needed tv free internet

  • Older travelers

Its proximity to the Hobart CBD and waterfront (a 10 minute walk).

The rooms were small (we expected that) and spartan (a bit more spartan than we'd imagined) and for some really odd reason there were no blinds on the windows -- so whether you liked it or not, you were awake with first light!

  • Single

It was close to Salamanca Market and shops.

It was a very small room no phone, no bath, not much room to move. The tv was that high on the wall you got a stiff neck looking up at it.There was no hairdryer you had to ask for one. It said breakfast was included but all you got was cereal and toast most places you stay at have a hot breakfast.

  • Older travelers

Poor service, poor breakfast, too expensive for what we got. Also the hotel was very noisy with traffic and outside pub crowd.. The hotel door advertised "luxury accomodation" I wonder do they know what it means.

  • Older travelers

plenty of hot water and fresh linen. comfortable bed good continental breakfast. Pleasant decor in dining and lounge area. Helpful manager at all times.

Using stairs for luggage no lift

  • Older travelers

Was within walking distance to many of the cities shopping and tourist sites

    clean and tidy

Room too Small No bedside tables/lights Nowhere to hang towel in bathroom (eg hooks/rails) mirror on side of wash sink in bathroom very limited/meagre breakfast very basic accommodation for the price

  • Couple

    Comfortable,friendly staff,lovely breakfast,great price.

  • Older travelers

We stayed in a standard double room (not the smaller double)The owner was a delightful lady and most helpful. Hi Jackie (hope I spelt your name right!) Everything was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was more than adequate in size. Nearly everything was available to make our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast choices of toast, jams, cereals, juice, tea or coffee were available in the mornings to get you off to a good start. Location is excellent with the city just around the corner. You don't need a car in Hobart. The Public Transport is excellent, on time and all the drivers are more than helpful and friendly. All in all, a very enjoyable stay and we would stay there again.

This is NOT a complaint! There were two things missing in the room that would have been good. Tissues in the room and a Teatowel to dry the dishes that are supplied in the room. Floor space is limited but you really only sleep there so it was not an issue! A little shelf next to the bed would be a good addition for things like watches or glasses.

  • Couple

I liked the friendliness of the staff

I didnt like that there seemed to be no elevators for disabled patrons, and that the room I stayed in was barely big enough for two people to move in at all

  • Older travelers

    absaloutlley nothing wrecked our holiday

woken up in the middle of the night screaming crap motel
